Studio Loft

The total
studio area is 1,500 square feet. When I first rented studio space,
the 1,000 square feet seemed like plenty of room. After a couple
years, though, it seemed full to overflowing, so when the print shop
moved out of the space next door, I took another 500 square feet so
I would have plenty of table space. I also added three decks with
shelves which gives me another 300 square feet of storage area. But
guess what! It’s filling up again! Like lots of artists I tend to
collect “junk” for possible future art projects—hence the full deck
areas! Lots of windows and 12 foot high ceilings make it seem even
roomier.

Information on renting a small studio, call Morty Epstein at 478-7006. You could rent a 400 sq ft studio for around $200/month. He sounds gruff on the phone (and in person), but he’s really nice and likes to get new tenants. I think there are over 200 spaces in the entire Front Street complex, with about 25 % of the spaces rented to artists of one kind or another. Come down and join us. We’re close to the developing Art’s District in Dayton.
